An 87-year-old wife called women’s helpline number in Gujarat to complain about her 89-year-old husband’s demands for sex.
Sources said that the wife was freed from her spouse’s frequent demands for sex after Abhayam’s team’s intervention.
A call was received by the Abhyam team and it was from an affluent family. The team was stunned at the call as, on the other side of the call, was the 87-year-old woman, narrating her ordeal and pleading to get rid of her husband’s insistence.
The husband, whose age is 89 years old and was an engineer, resided in the Sayajiganj area of Vadodara and had been demanding sex from his elderly wife. It was brought to the fore that the couple maintained a healthy relationship for several years and they resided with their son and daughter-in-law.
The wife shared with the Abhayam team that upon declining his advances and demands for sex, the husband would lose his temper, shout at her and chide her.
The wife took up the personal matter before the helpline after her husband demanded sexual intercourse despite her being sick and fatigued. Subsequently, Abhayam’s team reached his house and began counseling.
The team stated that the husband was asked to practice yoga at this age and also pay visits to religious places. He was also asked to visit the senior citizen’s gardens and parks to divert his urges and mind.
