Maharashtra political crisis live updates: Trouble has mounted for Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray as three more MLAs from his state have arrived today (June 23) in Assam’s Guwahati to join the rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde and other legislators. Deepak Kesakar, an MLA from Sawantwadi, Mangesh Kudalkar, the lawmaker from Chembur, and Sada Sarvankar, the Dadar MLA, took a morning flight from Mumbai and reached the Radisson Blu Hotel in Guwahati, where Shinde and fellow leaders have camped.
The development comes hours after four other MLAs – Chandrakant Patil, Yogesh Kadam, Manjula Gavit and Gulabrao Patil – also arrived at the hotel and joined the Eknath Shinde-led rebel camp.
Amid the political crisis in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra, Shinde had claimed the support of 46 legislators, including some Independents on Wednesday. He had also given a letter to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly’s deputy speaker, signed by 35 Sena MLAs, replacing Sunil Prabhu with Bharat Gogavale as the chief whip of the Shiv Sena legislature party.

Russia Ukraine War News Live Updates: Battle for Donbas twin cities reaches ‘fearsome climax’, says Ukraine
Ukraine’s president Zelenskiy believes Russian forces are attempting to destroy cities in the eastern Donbas region in the same way they did in Mariupol.
During a nightly address, Zelenskiy said:
In Donbas there are massive air and artillery strikes.
The goal of the occupiers in this direction remains the same – they want to destroy the whole Donbas step by step. Entire.
Lysychansk, Slovyansk, Kramatorsk – they aim to turn any city into Mariupol. Completely ruined.”
Zelenskiy also called for parity on the battlefield in plea for more heavy weapons.
That is why we repeatedly emphasise the acceleration of weapons supplies to Ukraine. Parity is needed on the battlefield as soon as possible to stop this devilish armada and move it beyond the borders of Ukraine.”
